to democracy and the Olympic Games, the writings of poet Homer
The Iliad and the Odyssey and the philosophers Socrates, Plato
and Aristotle. Celts & Vikings - The war-like Celts lived in
todays France and were conquered by Julius Caesar of Rome. The
Vikings were explorers, warriors and merchants, and settled in
Europe, Asian and North Atlantic. DVD 2: India - The 7th largest
country with a population of 1.2 billion people who once lived by
a caste system. India is known for the Taj Mahal, spice, s
and condiments. Mesopotamia - Many groups of people lived in
todays Middle East (where the Hanging Gardens of Babylon were).
The society was ruled by elders, and only the rich could be
educated. Carolingian - These people covered most of western
Europe (France, Germany). The greatest Carolingian ruler was
Charlemagne who was crowned emperor in 800 A.D. by Rome. DVD 3:
Byzantine - For 1000 years, east and west met on the Silk Road
trade route at Constantinople. Here, Emperor Constantine
procled Christianity to the world of Islam. It is all about
Mohammed, Mecca, Muslims and Mosques! DVD 4: Egypt - The
Egyptians built the Pyramids and the Sphinx and created a highway
of trade on the Nile river. They were the first to use
hieroglyphics and paper. Persians - Zoroaster, Darius, Xerxes,
Satraps... learn who and what they are. Hebrews - Hebrew is a
biblical term for what today are known as Israelites, who left
Egypt and entered the land of Canaan that God had given to them.
DVD 5: Aztecs - The Aztecs ruled most all of Mexico, built
pyramids and gave us corn, beans, peanuts and chocolate. Mayans -
In 400 B.C. they invented their own and had knowledge of
science, astronomy and astrology. Then they disappeared. No one
knows why or where. Incas - In 3000 B.C. the Incas lived in the
Andes ain range, built the hidden site of Machu Picchu, and
gave us the potato. DVD 6: China - The Chinese built the Great
Wall, which took 2000 years to complete! They also gave us silk,
powder, acupuncture, and the 8 virtues of life. Japan - The
Japanese live on a series of island-ains that experience
volcanoes, earthquakes and tsunamis. They are known for their
Samurai warriors and they gave us porcelain.
About the Actor

Paul Essiembre hails from Canadas east coast province of New
Brunswick, in the small village of Grande-Digue. Eventually
Essiembre relocated to Montreal where he would complete a
three-year intensive acting program at Dawson Colleges Dome
Theater and then on to Toronto, Ontario where he has made a
successful and varied career in film, television and on stage. He
has performed at all the major theaters across Canada, playing a
wide range of characters from Romeo to Iago to Picasso, including
four seasons at the Stratford Shakespeare Festival. In recent
years he has worked ly with Torontos Studio 180 Theatre
in their critically accled and hugely successful productions
of Stuff Happens, The Overwhelming and The Normal Heart.
Essiembre has also worked extensively in episodic television,
with notable appearances in Suits, Flashpoint, Veritas, Peter
Benchleys , Nikita, Covert Affairs, Degrassi: TNG, Queer As Folk
and Republic of Doyle. Also an impressive voice artist,
Essiembres most recognizable role in animation was as the voice
of the Silver Surfer in the animated series of the same name. He
has voiced countless television and radio commercials in Canada
and has narrated several documentaries such as Journey To The
Edge Of The Universe and Earth: The Making Of A Planet. He and
his family currently reside in Winnipeg, Manitoba.

About the Director
------------------
Federico Badía (42) started his film career in 1994. After a
decade working as assistant director for prestigious feature
films and TV commercials, he opened his own path as TV commercial
director; first for SCP Films and later for Cuatro Cabezas Films,
where he also worked as general producer. In 2007, Federico
founded AstroLab Motion, a production company dedicated to create
and produce high quality contents for TV. His first animated TV
series called The Time Compass sold in over 20 countries and
received two international awards. In the following years,
Federico carried on producing and directing quality content for
TV, including three other edu-tainment TV series for children,
two documentaries TV series and one documentary special for TV.
In 2012, Federico took the general producing role at BASS, a
company dedicated to production services in Buenos Aires.
Federico has a degree in Media Sciences (UBA - 2000).
