---------------------
The Seagate® Cheetah® 15K drive delivers the highest capacity
(up to 600 GB) of any mission-critical drive, reduces storage
costs per GB and increases capacity per watt. Featuring
PowerTrim™ technology, it dynamically optimizes drive power
consumption. With the highest reliability rating, it's available
with a 6-Gb/s SAS or 4-Gb/s FC interface. The highest-performing
3.5-inch drive, it reduces RAID rebuild times while minimizing
reliability risks. Ideally suited for use in network storage
applications, the Cheetah 15K drive is SAS 2.0-compliant and
offers a Self-Encrypting Drive (SED) option providing
government-grade security and instant secure erase for drives
repurposed or returned for expired lease, repair or warranty.*
*Requires TCG-compliant host or controller support

* - Network attached storage (NAS)
* - Direct attached storage (DAS)
Why Choose the Seagate Cheetah 15K? * Delivers unprecedented
performance with a sustained data rate of up to 171MB/s-a 16
percent increase over the previous generation
* Offers the largest capacity of any 3.5-inch Tier 1 drive, with
third-generation perpendicular
* Features the industry’s highest reliability rating with an
MTBF* of 1.6 million hours
* Includes Seagate PowerTrim™ technology, dynamically reducing
power usage by 21 percent over the previous generation
* Supports 6GB/s SAS 2.0 and 4GB/s FC
* Includes advanced read/write technology for an unrecoverable
error rate of 1x10E16 and an annualized failure rate (AFR) of
0.55 percent
* TCG-compliant, Self-Encrypting Drive (SED) security option (SAS
models only) eliminates the need to overwrite or physically
destroy drives, enables safe return of drives for warranty or
expired lease purposes, and allows organizations to securely
repurpose or sell hard drives (not available in all countries)
* Mean Time Between Failures “The Seagate Cheetah 15K.7 is a
remarkable product, no matter if you see it as an enterprise tool
or through the eyes of an enthusiast...” - TweakTown, November
2009 “In conclusion, the Seagate Cheetah 15K.7 SAS drive has
demonstrated a dominance over existing Enterprise storage
solutions and improved file transfer speeds at the same time as
it saves electrical energy costs.” - Benchmark Reviews, October
2009 “So after taking a look at the Seagate Cheetah NS.2 and
Cheetah 15K.7 I can say one thing without a doubt, these are two
of the fastest hard drives we have seen. In fact the 15K.7 is
just short of SSD performance with the reliability that only 53
years of development can give you.” - Lanoc Reviews, October 2009
“For users looking for the most advanced technology to
create new premium systems, or those who are looking to extend
the life of their existing systems, the Cheetah® 15K.7 delivers
the low TCO and promise of easy integration for businesses of all
sizes...” - Joe Cousins, vice president of marketing, Bell

Seagate is thinking green.
“Seagate had already be demanding 'full materials disclosure'
of its suppliers, requiring them to report all the s
present in their products, when Apple came knocking with its new
orders in 2007.” - Peter Burrows, BusinessWeek
